Welcome from Mrs Andrews

Dear Parents/Carers,

It gives me great pleasure to return this year as the Interim Headteacher of St Mary Magdalene Catholic Primary School and to welcome you back to what I am sure will be a busy and exciting school year.

I have been the Assistant Headteacher here for 3 years and a member of the Leadership team for 8. I have teaching experience in all year groups and am proud to have taught in Catholic Education for 26 years. I am honoured to be able to continue my journey here at St Mary Magdalene and be a part of an experienced and dedicated team who care deeply about nurturing and encouraging your children to achieve their very best.

I look forward to meeting many of you in the coming weeks and whenever possible you will be able to find me at the school gate at the start and end of the school day.

We would also like to take this opportunity to welcome Mrs Furness who will be our Deputy Headteacher this year. Mrs Furness is an experienced teacher and Senior Leader and we are delighted that she will be joining us.

Our whole school community are committed to Christ’s teaching and our children are taught to respect themselves and others, to be kind, thoughtful and caring. We work together to create a nurturing and stimulating environment, ensuring our children are safe and happy. We have high expectations of work and behaviour and we aim to foster in our pupils life-long love of learning and a desire to contribute to the wider life of school and beyond. In partnership with Parents, Carers and Governors every child is encouraged to reach their full potential.

I look forward to watching your children grow in confidence, knowledge and spirituality during their time at St Mary Magdalene Catholic Primary School and will thank you in advance for the support I know you will give all members of our school community in the year to come.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs Andrews

Interim Headteacher
