NHS Test and Trace
The Government launched the NHS test and trace service in May as part of its recovery strategy. This means that anyone who has symptoms will be tested and their close contacts will be traced.
The main symptoms of coronavirus are:
- high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
- new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
- loss or change to your sense of smell - this means you’ve noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal
Testing and tracing for coronavirus
Get a test to check if you have coronavirus, understand your test result and find out what to do if you're contacted by NHS Test and Trace.
How do I get a test?
You can apply for a test online.
We'll ask you:
- how you want to get the test – at a drive-through or walk-through test site or by ordering a home test kit
- for details such as your name, mobile phone number and address
