School Uniform

At St. Mary Magdalene all the children wear a school uniform, the main colours being red and grey.

Summer uniform can be worn from after the Easter holidays up to the October half term, after these times winter uniform must be worn.

Girls

  • White polo shirt with school logo or white blouse
  • Red sweatshirt or cardigan with school logo
  • Grey skirt, pinafore dress or shorts, grey/black trousers
  • Red and white summer dress
  • White/grey ankle/below knee socks or grey/black tights(no trainer socks or red tights)
  • Black shoes – All shoes must have enclosed toes and heels
    Trainers are not allowed

Girls PE Kit

  • Round neck white T-shirt with school logo
  • Red PE shorts
  • Black plimsolls (Children with an adult shoe size 6 or above may wear black running-shoe type trainers)
  • PE bag with child’s name

Kits should be brought to school at the start of each term and taken home each week/term.

  • Fleece
  • School winter coat (red or black)
  • Sun cap / winter hat

School tracksuit for outdoor PE in winter (alternatively, children may wear their school sweatshirt over their PE shirt in winter).

General

  • Hair – long hair should be tied back away from the face at all times, using hair bands/slides in the school colours (black/brown/red). Only small headbands in hair no large adornments. 
  • Children may not dye or bleach their hair. Hairstyles must be of a conventional nature. No tram-lines, wedges or shaved hair. 
  • Children should not wear jewellery to school.
    Small studs in pierced ears are the only acceptable items and these must be removed before PE lessons.
  • Nail varnish is not permitted.

We strongly recommend that all uniform and kit is named (preferably with iron or sewn on labels).
